June Summer: The Artists — One-Day Exhibition Benefit + more

As May marked the end of our 2013-2014 art season (Maker Month), June marked the beginning of the summer celebrations. Last weekend, we held a special art exhibition benefit showcasing 18 local artists with 26 pieces of artwork varying in mediums from digital illustration to acrylic to 3D sculptures! Hosted at the lovely Gallerie Citi in Burlingame, it was a family-friendly event where guests could hear first-hand the stories behind the artwork from the artists while enjoying complimentary food provided by local vendors and wine tastings provided by Silver Mountain Vineyards from the Santa Cruz Mountains.

We would like extend a special thank you to our vendor sponsors:

Since the beginning of Kids & Art in 2008, we would not have been able to do the work that we do without the great dedication and effort from our artists. For our 2013 - 2014 art season alone, we have touched the lives of 140 children. With seven art workshops held at various Bay Area locations such as Pixar Animation Studios, Redwood City Art Center, and Google — our children were able to learn varying techniques with their art projects including collage creation, typewriter art, crayon melting, foil art, jewelry making, acrylic painting, and more.

As for upcoming events — This year Summer Solstice (first day of summer) lands on Saturday, June 21st which coincidentally marks the day we take part in the Downtown San Mateo SummerFest and the annual Sevathon - 5K,10K, Half-Marathon/Yogathon event taking place in Sunnyvale the next Sunday!
