Kids & Art Foundation is honored to recognize Apu with this year’s Amaeyzing Spirit Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to an individual who is furthering the Foundation’s mission by promoting artistic healing to those affected by childhood cancer.

Craftbox has a full menu of projects to choose from, ranging from jewelry making, woodworking, creating with fabrics to paper crafts. Read MoreI am very lucky to be a cancer survivor. A lot has changed for me from those early, sickly days. I’m now 16, in high school, and am an active athlete. I played club soccer for many years, eventually becoming captain of a team which traveled to Sweden for an international tournament. I now play water polo for a club and for Aragon High School. I also enjoy skiing, using my new drivers license and hanging out with friends. I like sleeping in late, being on my cell phone and don’t like doing homework: in other words, I’m now a typical teenager.
Kids & Art focuses on the emotional and psychological state of the pediatric cancer family. We strive for an integrated care model where healing through the arts is part of the treatment plan. We team up children who are touched by cancer, their siblings, and caregivers with local artists.
Together they use art as healing to empower, encourage and create memorable experiences.
