One on One Workshop at Pacific Arts League

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Pacific Arts League is hosting another workshop!

THIS WORKSHOP IS ONLY FOR CANCER PATIENTS AND FAMILIES

Pacific Arts League is hosting another workshop!

In partnership with Pacific Art League, Kids & Art children from 4 to 24 are getting ready for a memorable occasion. The kids/AYA are being paired one-on-one with artists to create art. The professionals, practicing Bay Area artists, will be working alongside the child and together they will create some lasting memories. We will also encourage our professional artists to create a piece inspired by the kids/AYA art.

MESSAGE FOR ARTISTS: Thank you for volunteering with us for this wonderful workshop. In addition to providing an exceptional workshop for the families participating, we are also working towards preparing an exhibit of our kids art to show at SFO in January, highlighting our program.

We have some specific size requirements to adhere to in the creation of this workshop. Out of this workshop, we need to get a few 11 x 14 works on paper to display. It would be wonderful to get varying orientations so that we can make the large displays more interesting; meaning some vertical and some horizontal. These can be full color as there will be room surrounding for mats. Fabric can work if it can be adhered (possibly pinned) to a final mat board.

MESSAGE FOR VOLUNTEERS: In our experience, kids are usually willing to share their art for an exhibit, and we can ask one of our support volunteers to document their name and address/phone (from parents) in order to return it after the exhibit, which runs mid January through mid April. It is in one of the public areas, so the families can go see it. We will share all of this later.

Our workshops are free to all pediatric cancer families. To participate as a family, artist, or volunteer, please click on the button below.
