Amaeyzing Touch Art Workshops

The Amaeyzing Touch program offers adult cancer patients a space to participate in individualized and interactive online art experiences through Zoom sessions. At the Kids & Art Foundation we believe that art is a restorative, beneficial, and healing addition to a patient's cancer journey. We provide an opportunity to escape the stress and anxiety associated with cancer treatment and offer a peaceful, reflective time for creativity and healing.

Experienced Kids & Art lead artists specially create the projects featured. An artist and Kids & Art staff lead each session. No art experience is necessary to participate. Self-expression and creativity are the goals and what you produce during the session is always a surprising and fun result.

All materials and supplies necessary to complete the art projects will be provided free of charge to all participants registered by the date listed below. In addition, digital links to video instructions will be provided post-workshop if a participant does not complete the art project during the Zoom session.

The Amaeyzing Touch program has been made possible thanks to a grant from Sandhya’s Touch.

A Few of My Favorite Things

This project invites participants to reflect on their favorite places, colors and things. The finished art will convey happy memories, as well as hopes and dreams.

Why “Amaeyzing?” - Kids & Art Foundation is the legacy of our founder’s son, Amaey. He was always called Amazing Amaey by his friends, and that is how we coined the term “Amaeyzing” for many of the Kids & Art Programs. More about the Kids & Art story.

Past Workshops

Mini Quilts

This project was inspired by the beautiful designs and stunning colors of Gee’s Bend quilts. Created by the women of Gee’s Bend, a small remote black community in Alabama, the quilts offer an important visual and cultural contribution to the history of art in the United States. You will have the opportunity to create a unique mini quilt using plain and patterned paper, and another mini quilt using felt and colorful patterned fabrics.
